What exactly is the QR code on my invoice?
Every invoice you create gets its own unique QR code printed in the footer. When your client scans it with any phone camera — no app needed — it opens a clean live invoice page in their browser. On that page they can read every detail of the invoice, see whether it's been paid or is still due, and download a PDF copy for their records. It's like turning a static paper invoice into a living, trackable document. Your client always has the freshest information, and you always know if they've seen it.
How does automatic GST calculation work?
As soon as you add a product or service with a price, BillSathi instantly calculates the subtotal, splits it into CGST and SGST (9% each for intra-state), and shows the final grand total — all in real time as you type. No calculator needed, no manual entry. If you're on the GST Product template, you'll also see a full HSN code column and a CGST/SGST breakup table, which is exactly what a proper tax invoice requires under GST law. The numbers update live as you add or remove line items.
Can I put my own logo and sign the invoice?
Yes — and it's one of the things that makes BillSathi feel genuinely professional. Upload your business logo (PNG, JPG or SVG) and it appears in the top-left corner of every invoice, exactly where a logo belongs. For your signature, you have two options: draw it live on screen using your mouse or finger on a touchscreen, or upload a photo of your physical signature. Either way, it appears in the authorised signature box at the bottom of the invoice — making it look like a document you actually signed and handed over.
How will I know when my client opens or pays the invoice?
Every invoice has a live payment timeline that tracks four stages automatically — Created, Sent, Viewed, and Paid. The moment your client opens the QR link or the invoice URL, it gets marked as "Viewed" with a timestamp. When payment is confirmed, the status flips to "Paid" and a green checkmark appears. You can check this from your dashboard anytime, and we'll notify you so you're never left wondering whether they even saw it. No more "I didn't receive it" excuses.
Is BillSathi free? What are the limits?
